Welcome to Troop 414!

We meet weekly during the school year on Thursdays from 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm at Bedford Presbyterian Church, unless otherwise noted.

Troop 414 is a very active troop with monthly outings.

Our program strives to develop the core scouting principles of character, citizenship, community service, leadership, and outdoor skills.

In our 53 year history we have had the honor of graduating 131 Eagle Scouts.

See you on the trail!

Ways To keep Scouting

Posted on Mar 20 2020 - 11:37am
During the coming weeks, you can keep on Scouting at home. You can advance in rank by reading the Scout Handbook and practicing your scout skills. You can work through merit badges with counselors in our troop using your computer and phone. If you want to work and a merit badge and need a counselor, please reach out to Mrs. Trent (our advancement chair) and she will hook you up. I can't think of a more appropriate time to work on Emergency Preparedness, for example (Mr. Linderman is a counselor for that). Cooking is also a wonderful skill to apply now that you're at home a lot.

Troop 414 Status

Just figured I’d let everyone know that we will not be having scouts until we can safely and legally do so... so no meetings at least until April... we’ll give more updates when we have a better idea of when that will be... stay safe everyone!

Hidden Valley, GSR

Hidden Valley Scout Camp at Griswold Scout Reservation offers a terrific program which includes a choice of merit badges, a great New Scout program (Frontier!), and a wide selection of troop and free time activities.  Scout camp in camp-provided tents, and eat at the dining hall. For older scouts, they also offer the Voyageur programs either camping in the backcountry or floating down the river (for an additional fee), as well as their SPOKE program and COPE programs. Camp at Hidden Valley offers a great experience getting to know other members of the troop, as well as scouts from other units that you meet in the merit badge program.
